what's the difference between mental and spiritual?

"mental" has both the formal usage, (i.e. mental journey), and informal usage (i.e. mental hospital, going mental). Either way, I think there is a huge difference, as spirituality is not necessarily confined to one mind, but can be a group consciousness, or exist independently of people.*

You don't have to be mental (inf.) to be spiritual.
Being spiritual is not necessarily a mental (for.) experience.

*I'm no expert
