WTF Wednesday: Bookmarks, Suckling Pig
Hey Wednesday! Hey WTF!
Hey Vodka Man with a cork for a head.
Hey girl holding teddy.
Hey ceramic book-shaped container onto which someone applied BOOKMARKS sticker letters.
How else can you be expected to keep track of them all?
It was hard to capture the full glory of this grabby iridescent blue crab.
So grabby.
Last but not least, a suckling pig. (Originally priced $5, a real steal for $2).

Behind the T-shirt: Erasmus Hall High School
i found this soft, thin 80's t-shirt last week from the Erasmus Hall High School Bicentennial celebration.
The wikipedia tells me it closed in 1994, but for 207 years was a high school in the Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY.
Some notable alumni/attendees include: Neil Diamond, Joseph Barbera (Hanna Barbera), Billy Cunningham, Al Davis, Clive Davis, Bobby Fischer, Jim Florio, Samuel LeFrak, Gabe Kaplan from Welcome Back Kotter, Barbra Streisand, and Mae West, among dozens.
Here's former EHHS Dutchman Neil Diamond modeling the shirt.

our favorite little dumptruck went under the knife yesterday.
she went through one heat in august, and that was plenty. there are no sugarpuppies in our future.
she did great in her surgery, and was doing okay once we came home, though she was pacing around whimpering until she settled in this spot to watch the game with her dad.
she is expected to make a full recovery, and will have stitches for the next two weeks, during which time she is to be kept dry and calm. all we can do is try on that one!
way to go sugarsnickers!

WTF Wednesday: Firming Your Figure (1981)
Hallo Wednesday! Hallo WTF!
This week's focus is Firming Your Figure, the Consumer Guide from 1981 filled with 96 pages of a woman in Adidas jogging shorts over panty hose (sometimes legwarmers) demonstrating 7 days of exercises designed to give you the best figure you've ever had.
This glorious magazine was sent to me by my friend Allison from Robin Egg Surprise Vintage.
Start off with some abdominal exercises.
Do the best you can.
You should feel a tingling in the legs.
Run in place, then grab your foot.
Don't forget your wrists.
Now slump.
And hunch.
And slump again.
That's it! You got it.

WTF Wednesday: Hugging Teddies, Cooking French, Dreams
Hola Wednesday! Hola WTF!
Hola hugging teddies.
Hola streetlamp drunkard.
Hola pig in overalls.
Hola duck stuffed with fake flowers and mini ducks on pins.
Cooking French. The old way removed eyeballs.
Here's a thoughful little cowperson.
Sitting on an elephant.
It's a ceramic salt box fashioned into a (broken) clock.
Songs about ladies and love...and jumping hounds.
Anne Murray where do you go when you dream?
Someplace very, very different from this.

happy birthday, DAD!
Today is my dad's birthday.
Here he is winning the Rhode Island Jr. Chamber of Commerce Golf Sportsmanship Award in 1959.
He's in a seersucker suit, and that's my dearly departed grandpa Wallace cut off on the left behind him.
Of course he won this award, he is the most right-minded, selfless, even-keeled person you could ever meet! The other kids never had a chance.
Happy birthday Big Papi!

WTF Wednesday: Cat in a Loafer, Phallus Duplicatus
Hello Wednesday! Hello WTF!
I must start this WTF Wednesday with a moment of silence for my Grandpa Wallace who passed away in Palm Beach at the ripe old age of 94 this weekend. He was pretty cool. He was an architectural delineator and led a fairly charmed life. 94 is a lot of years, we should all be so lucky.
**********
Now it's a cat in a loafer.
And a rabbit on a carrot.
Last but not least, a stinkhorn mushroom spotted on a hike on Big Butt mountain off the Blue Ridge Parkway on Monday. Phallus duplicatus - astonishing net-like skirt.

WTF Wednesday: Stoic Clowns, Free Kisses, Rescue Dummy
Good morning, Wednesday! Good morning, WTF!
Let's begin with a dog sleeping like a sugarnitwit.
Now for a couple of stoic clowns: Asian...
And argyle.
Flute section of the angel band.
At least this one has her hands properly placed.
This broken music box depicts, I think, pregnant hippies.
Free kisses!
Ewe isn't fat...
Listen to how to speak up.
Dr. Bear is here to scrape your gums.
Oh, the horrors this ceramic doll has seen.
Last but not least, they are charging $75 for this "Rescue Dummy." (Gently used).

WTF Wednesday: Dressing Right, A Guide for Men, 1978
Heyo Wednesday! Heyo WTF!
This week will focus exclusively on a book called "Dressing Right, A Guide for Men" - straight out of 1978.
You may remember this author from his first book, "Looking Good."
Color works either by harmonizing, or contrasting.
Neutrals calm, brights energize.
Pattern Play: Togetherness.
Practice the big step: asserting yourself.
All about outerwear.
Active sports influence.
Finally, a few sentences to repeat every morning.
