i hate yerba mate

yerba mate, originally uploaded by skippy haha.

yerba mate is a kind of tea that tastes like ashtray, dirty ashtray. or more like smoked dirt. and if you drink a cup of it at noon on monday, you might find yourself still wide awake monday night clear into tuesday morning, and then everything gets screwy.

i will not forget this next time i think to buy this crap, drawn in by the lemon & the ginger which are great but do not overpower the taste of smoked grass. and not the good smoked grass. i've had circulation problems forever, my hands & feet will go numb in the cold, and i just found out that ginger (like eating 30 ginger chews a day) sets a fire inside & keeps my extremities toasty warm.

I used to drink mate everyday and loved it. Thought it tasted good and it became my buddy. However, the effects of chronic use wore off its better effects and continued use became somewhat irritating. I've had the same thing with coffee so now I'm drinking tea with the occasional cup of coffee and the very occasional cup of matte.

As for ginger, why not skip those chews and cut up a piece of the raw ginger... A small piece goes a long way! I've never had circulation problems but it keeps a woozy stomach stable.

p.s. Playin Through won its 5th straight game last night to end the season at #1!!!

yeah playin through - hitting your stride! do you have a site/photographer? i bet fiesta league gets decked out. i was exaggerating about the ginger chews, they're easy to put in pockets, but i will try plain ginger too, i'm sure it will work even better. do you want this mate? i can send it to you - all 19 bags are yours if you want em.

greetings from mappy camper...
ay ay, you're drinking dirty llama balls tea ! mmmm....good !

i drink mate myself, occasionally for the extra pick me up that I don't get from coffee. Although i don't really drink coffee or tea on a regular basis....(wine works better for me....tee hee). but of course when i am working and a bit grougy....i choose mate with a dash of honey.

james will sometime take a pinch and put it in between his lip and teeth like chewin' tabacca...now that is odd. ; )
