"The Beatles were bubblegum cards and Help at the Saturday morning cinema and toy plastic guitars and singing `Yellow Submarine' at the top of my voice in the back row of the coach on school trips. They belong to me, not to me and Laura, or me and Charlie, or me and Alison Ashworth, and though they'll make me feel something, they won't make me feel anything bad."
i feel this way about james mcmurtry. and tea leaf green. and surprise me mr. davis. and the wood brothers. and billy joel (don't judge!). and dozens of other bands and artists who have recorded music that i have listened to obsessively at one time or another.

xo
Are you going to see McMurtry at the Grey Eagle?
@lydia - cool! it was the first ive read. did not know that! i know the feeling! there were some disasters but pretty much all of them were nice. but yeah very relatable book/movie. the first half of the book and the movie are basically word for word, the dialogue in the book is so well written!
@jasonbugg - i haven't gotten that far yet. haven't seen him live in 5+ years...usually buy his records on itunes...chronologiaclly i played his first few cds on repeat in a 5 disc boombox the summer of 98...good times...
This made my eyes leak. All of it. The quote, the music (love Billy Joel), down to the book. Love that book! One of my faves to reread.
thank you shannon! for your leaky eyes & your comment :) i might form billy joel lovers anonymous.
