amputee's appetite

i wonder if a person's appetite goes down after having a limb amputated in relation to the lower body mass & fewer calories it would take to support that mass.

very interesting question. they say that most amputees still feel sensations where the limb was once located. do you think the brain tricks them into thinking they need to fuel it if it tricks them into thinking it's still attached?

what if they ate the amputated limb? wouldn't this, in theory, reintegrate the appendage into the body thereby reestablishing an equilibrium?
Load it up with enough BBQ sauce or catsup or whatever and it might not be half bad.

now that's a great idea, shad. that would complete the circle and we can stop wasting amputated limbs, especially in this economy. i wish i knew a limb surgeon.
