max patch

360 views of the blue ridge and great smoky mountains from up there. they keep it tree-free by mowing and controlled burns. it's phenomenal.

    Max Patch is my favorite spot in the near vicinity. I take every visitor that comes from out of town (or state) to Max Patch...

    I get high every time I'm there...(on nature---not drugs!!)

    agreed Gianna! it was the first time i've been up there and i was mightily impressed. not sure if my car would make it up the slippery mud and gravel, but i will definitely be back. mappy, come visit in the summer & we'll go up there for sure. it would be even cooler when it's all green instead of burnt hay.

    the fall is awesome too...actually there is never a wrong time of year...though I did drive up once when there was snow and ice and that was scary...but the hilltop with snow was awesome...
