After about a week with a nasty looking sore on my ankle, the severe head/back/neck pain set it, and I took a cab to the emergency room. They kept me for three days ruling out what they could e.g. a spinal tap for meningitis, CT scan for brain issues, blood work for west nile virus - which they initially thought I had and kept me somewhat quarantined... that was nice. It was the CAT scan operator who noticed the sore on my ankle and was like "What is THAT?!?" From there, the docs pieced it together. They cleaned up the ankle and sent me home. I wasn't right for about a month.

F@*$in' spiders.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23155515.post-16820279571321929872008-02-08T17:40:00.000-05:002008-02-08T17:40:00.000-05:00Dude, not to repeat what everyone has already said...Dude, not to repeat what everyone has already said, but that is totally a black widow. I had the unfortunate experience of finding several in my in-law's backyard here in Colorado while doing some landscaping this summer. It sounds like the Brazilian tragically assumes that if something is dangerous, it's supposed to be BIG...

I would certainly get those things removed - but I'm a bit paranoid ever since I was bit by a brown recluse when I lived in VA.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23155515.post-7434069801238766992008-02-07T10:19:00.000-05:002008-02-07T10:19:00.000-05:00thank you spider fans! zen that was my first clue...thank you spider fans! zen that was my first clue, its web was very strong and messy full of leaves & bugs and not symmetrical...i just wholly believed the exterminator...stupidly...i just got the eggsacs with some bleach spray...waiting for the mama to come back & maybe i'll spray her...a big breakthrough last night when a friend clued me in that the top of windows just slide right down the same way the bottoms slide up. now i can get them! adios block weedow!skippy hahahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00805630058848985264noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23155515.post-16900467583833380672008-02-07T07:36:00.000-05:002008-02-07T07:36:00.000-05:00it very well could be and from the looks of things...it very well could be and from the looks of things probably is.

They're small, and their little hourglass can be misshapen and hardly noticable.
